(A Highly Researched Red Hot Product) Super Immunity: The Essential Nutrition Guide for Boosting Your Body's Defenses to Live Longer, Stronger, and Disease Free.

Best of the Best!, Love this book!!!!!

First I'd like to give a little background about us. My husband and I have tried several different diets and combinations of foods. A few years ago, we were mostly vegetarian only eating white meats about once a month. We lost a good amount of weight but it was difficult to maintain this diet. Then we tried Eating Raw for Dummies book. I found it to be very difficult to prepare these foods, the time involved could be up to 24 hours in a dehydrator, and the grocery list of foods was very expensive. Needless to say this lifestyle didn't last long either.

THEN! I watched Dr. Oz and saw Dr. Fuhrman on his show demonstrating a few recipes and the foundation of his book for super longevity. Having already experienced the benefits of eating mostly fruits and veggies, but becoming bored with our current plan, this sounded like a perfect match. It certainly was!

The major pros of this book are and plan compared to other lifestyles we tried are: 1. Easy to make 2. Good amount of recipes with quick prep time 3. Variety of flavors and foods blended together 4. I can plan to make several recipes for the week that have similar ingredients 5. Compared to our previous plan, my grocery bill is actually less per week 6. I can make meals ahead for the week and/or freeze them 7. Our energy levels have increased after only a couple weeks 8. My stomach issues have dissipated

Our favorite recipes so far are the Caesar Salad, Better Burgers and the Strawberry sauce used for the sweet potato cakes. I like to use this sauce on a walnut/strawberry salad. Yum!

I haven't made the famous veggie chocolate cake yet, but will give an update when I do!

Excellent information,

This has become a new way of life for me and my son. Everything in this book makes perfect sense and I noticed a change in the way I feel within days and have been living this lifestyle now for about 3 weeks. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to be healthy and ward off cancers and other chronic diseases. There is a lot of scientific language that can make it hard to understand every last detail but he does a great job at siting all of his sources if you do have questions about where the information is coming from. It's nice that he includes some of his patient's stories and it's remarkable to see how they were able to recover and take back over their lives all by taking the time to take care of themselves through an excellent diet change.

A true life saver,

First, I do not understand a previous reviewer's complaint regarding lack of an index. My book has an excellent index. Perhaps he is referring to a previous edition or the electronic version.

Dr. Fuhrman's 293-page book is divided into three sections: 1) a compelling argument for healthy eating (60%), 2) a cookbook within the book (25%), 3) the citations, glossary, and index (15%).

I can't even boil water, so the cookbook part is almost worthless to me. That said, the first section is well worth the price of the entire book.

In a highly readable form, Dr. Fuhrman offers evidence -- no, alarming PROOF, that our processed food diet is killing us. But the good news is, he offers equally compelling proof that we can turn our lives around and add years of quality life through dietary changes. Personal stories of cancer survival, weight loss, and recovery from any manner of serious chronic diseases makes for riveting reading.

I have absolutely no background in nutrition and dietetics, so I feel almost foolish to criticize a man who has successfully treated thousands of patients with extraordinary success. That said, I disagree with his assessment of the healthy oils. I think it's fair to say he believes that even "healthy eaters" put too much emphasis on good fat oils such as olive oil. He thinks that the price of healthy oils in terms of fat grams and calories is such that pure oil additions should be minimized, and their consumption largely confined to their natural occurrence within the fruits and vegetables from which they are derived. I profoundly disagree. My personal experience with these oils (especially coconut oil) is such that I simply refuse to reduce my consumption to the relatively miniscule amounts Dr. Fuhrman recommends.

You can add my story to those in the book who have turned their lives around through healthy eating. I have lost 120 lbs, and for the first time in 25 years I am on NO prescription medication. I just received results of my extensive blood tests covering a long list of measurements ranging from sodium to blood sugars.I am in the "normal range" In every single category and my HDL (good cholesterol) is in the normal range for the first time in my adult life. My LDL cholesterol rating is optimal. My blood pressure is 115/75. The very thought of a Big Mac and super-sized order of fries with a milkshake nauseates me.

Gotta go. It's Sunday, and I'm off to a vegetarian restaurant for my favorite dish: hearty lentil soup with mushrooms!

Learn How to be Healthy with Food,

I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to be healthy and maintain a healthy weight. I purchased this book 6 months ago, and it has been worth every penny and then some.

I learned that consuming too much animal and dairy fat causes health problems (and weight gain) in individuals and learned how important it is to get micronutrients into your diet. After reading this book, I centered my family's meals around veggies, fruit, beans, seeds, nuts, and mushrooms. We also consume much less meat (don't have to be a vegan). Result is weight loss, better health, and more energy. My family hardly ever gets sick, and if we do, we recover quickly.

This book changed our lives for the better, and I'm so glad Dr. Fuhrman has done his research and put it in a book so that others can benefit from his knowledge. Thank you Dr. Fuhrman!!

A wealth of information!,

I am an avid fan of Dr. Fuhrman ever since I came across him on PBS one sleepless night! His diet has changed my life! Super Immunity only builds on that knowledge reinforcing for true health reasons why in the world you would choose to eat this way. There are no gimmicks, no supplements, no weird food to eat. You can choose to be vegan or not. It is completely up to you. Studies show and the results of his 20+ year practice of thousands and thousands of patients prove that nothing is more nutritious or nurturing for your body that whole produce, and especially the leafy greens and cruciferous veggies. Fresh whole fruits, nuts & seeds and cooked dried beans are the basis of the "diet".

It is actually a healthy lifestyle and once I started adding these things to my diet I soon found out that I felt just completely rotten eating "the old way". The energy I have, the easy weight loss, loss of joint pain, and feeling of well being are priceless to me. I have Dr. Furhman to thank for that. I share this information with anyone who shows interest in improving their health or losing weight. People who will turn up their noses at the diet may be interested to know that your tastes will change over time if you give it a chance. I now rarely miss salt in my food, find processed food too salty and sweet, and regular salad dressing on my salad is just too greasy and unappealing. All of this from a 55 year old woman who once weighed 205 pounds and wore size 16 most unattractively. Today I am 135 pounds and a size 4! Never thought I could do that in a million years and without starving. I have no cravings for junk and I am never hungry until it is time to eat!

If you are sick and tired of being sick and tired, give it a try. Just the information alone on what the food can do for you is compelling enough. The bonus of healthful eating aside from decreasing your chances of developing cancer, heart disease, and autoimmune diesases over time is weight loss!

recommend,

This book has been a big help to my husband and myself. He has been a diabetic for the past 10 years the doctors kept giving him more and more insulin and Lantus, and than he gained more and more weight. Was told you need to lose weight, but than said to him insulin will make you gain weight. I was also diagnosed with diabetes and Reactive hypoglycemia. We both was at the point that something needed to change, seen this life style change in a magazine decided to do some research on it. My husband and I agreed we would give it a try, it worked love the 20 pounds we each have lost in least than three weeks. At first I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to deal with all the newer foods and wasn't sure what would happen to my reactive hypoglycemia. My husband has dropped his insulin from 40 units each meal to 20 or less each each meal, and Lantus from 100 morning and night to less than half that all day. I haven't had but a few incidents with the reactive hypoglycemia, that is so much better than every other day. This is a choice you have to make and keep to it the rest of your life, but once you start the new way of eating you will find out your energy level is so much better, and food cravings are gone. We tell everyone we see that want to know how we lose this weight about this book and how it changed our life.

An eye-opening book which can change your life.,

I bought this book for my husband who has just entered the diabetic range, possibly brought on by chemo drugs &/or other medications he's on. Since he had one kidney removed due to cancer, he's very concerned about keeping the remaining kidney as healthy as possible.

I must preface this by saying that my husband has, until now, been reluctant to give up the foods he loves. After his latest doctor's visit, he decided he needed to change his diet (lower carbs, lower sodium). I searched around for books to help with this, and this one caught my eye. He's been reading this book religiously and has adapted the dietary recommendations. While he is following the recommended diet to the letter, the whole household has converted to a diet higher in vegetables and lower in meat. He lost some 8 pounds in the first week. Blood tests after a month or two will reveal what it's done for his kidney function.

While the diet itself is pretty strict, I don't think it's fair to rate the book itself based on the dietary recommendations. You either follow them or you don't; that's up to you. Frankly, when I see the shopping carts of fellow shoppers in the grocery store, I think if people read the book and adapted even a small part of these recommendations, they'd be much better off as far as their health and weight is concerned.

As far as the book itself: it's well written. It provides background of the chemistry of food and how it affects your body without being over-your-head. What he writes makes sense once you read his explanation. The writing is clear. He makes a strong enough case for the benefits of this diet that my husband was convinced (and that's saying a lot; he's been resistant to major dietary changes).

There are a number of recipes in the book, which is helpful (though I admit I haven't yet tried too many of them). The soups are easy; I've tried some of the dressings, and haven't found one we like yet. Regardless, he makes a decent amount of recipe and meal plan suggestions, which helps you get started on this plan.

The only negative is that the index for the book could be better. My husband has mentioned a couple of times that he remembers reading something about, say, steel cut oats, but when he goes to find that information again, he wasn't able to find it in the index so he had a hard time looking it up again.

As for the dietary recommendations themselves, I'd summarize it this way: most vegies, select fruits, nuts ... very minimal fish & white meat, no dairy, no animal products. The emphasis is on eating those things which are packed with nutrients AND with a minimum of "the bad stuff". This is a low carb diet (I don't believe there's much emphasis on low sodium specifically, but by eliminating the packaged foods from your diet, you will have automatically reduced your sodium intake significantly).

(A Brand New Super hot Product) Built For Life: Motto for a New You

500x500

Built for life". Kind of a title that's interesting, if you think about it, because it has two meanings. The first is to stay in shape muscle catchy for as long that you're alive and able to exercise, you will be 'built' your whole life, never bothered to take off your shirt at the beach, Lake or pool. And as was so well said my colleague bodybuilder 60-plus-year-old Tony DiCosta, "" you'll usually have the guys in the room with the best built body."(Talking about a conversation item!)

The second meaning is that you are mentally and physically difficult, prepared for any life that present themselves to you. You are 'built' to withstand the stresses, pressures and problems that come your way throughout your time on this planet - almost as if you have created a mental and physical fortress bulletproof, able to deflect all negative, this attitude alters artillery fired each of us every day.

Proper strength training can give you these two - and contrary to popular belief, do not poundages case-joint, spine of crushing to get there.

In fact, training with weights max can be a negative, especially as you get older. Of course, if you're a young guy focused on ego, looking for a lying monster, heavy training where it is Reps low and many ensembles will build your strength in the extreme, but not necessarily much muscle, as I will explain in a future blogs - just be careful. There is a cumulative cost. I am still dealing with injuries that I sustained during my years of Powerlifting.

http://oldschoolnewbodyinsider.com/

I'm not force athletic bodybuilding or power are examples of bad training - just that the shot of mega is not necessary for you to build a physically impressive bodybuilder-type, a body so muscular that people how the size of your arm or the width of your back or the vascularization of the streaks down your forearm. You can take a muscular look for life and should not be soft tissue lesions or as much work as you may think, if you can train yourself smart.

Whether you're 18 (this is Jonathan Lawson, my old training parter, in his 20s, pictured above with us) and has just begun the journey of bodybuilding or a 50 - something intern who has thrown for decades (like me), intelligent lifting: training in more effective, safer and quicker to build muscle and burn fat.

http://oldschoolnewbodyinsider.com/ I can promise you that the new body Old School is a non - B.S. program.-it is my sole purpose is for you to have all the ammo you need to have a physique which turns heads and raises eyebrows and one that supports your health and your well be. I want you to be able to keep this look eye-catching, muscular - and make him feel healthy – for the rest of your days.

  • I do not know where the 1 star ratings come from, this range is excellent. It heats very quickly, evenly and accurately. Cooks and bakes as well as any range I've ever used in a non-pro environment. I love mine so much and the price point works for me or I would have bought a used Wolf. Regarding those who wish for more flame, you'd truly need a commercial vent for that. Also many complaints that the fan that is noisy, it is not bad at all, I expect to hear something. Simply not a problem. People with small kids complain about the knobs, kids will grab at any stove how is that the stoves fault? No joy to clean and you can't set the oven in the dark as the controls are not fully back lit but I cook with the lights on so no problem. I have owned this range for 2 years now.

love love LOVE this range, only one thing,

We remodeled our kitchen and went from a wall oven and cooktop to this freestanding range (said it was slide in, but really, it didnt make a diffrence in our remodel) It's the range I wanted and we hunted and hunted and found a great deal as they are discontinuing this 30" range, for 1700.00 Sears gave us this floor model (added the 3 yr all inclusive warranty for 250.00 which I HIGHLY suggest you do if buying any appliances, its well worth it!!) So I have my dream range and love everything about it... My knobs are stainless steel so I dont have the melting issue that another reviewer had (stupid of GE to use plastic knobs when they are on the front of the range right above the oven, shame on you GE) The "cooking oven" under the large oven that another reviewer mentioned is really just a warming oven and I knew that going in (word of advice, if you want 2 ovens, get that model specifically, this bottom warming drawer is just that, a drawer, very small, perfect for warming plates of food, etc). If you turn the "warming drawer/oven" to 450, its gets hot quickly but I dont think it gets 450 hot, but I'm good with that because I stalked this model for months before I bought it, and the service lady that came out to make sure things were working great (its FREE once a year if you get the warranty)mentioned that was an issue that GE was working on and probably why they are discontinuing this model, to make it better).

The ONLY con on this range...the controls arent lit up, not even a little bit which even with my kitchen lit up like a Christmas tree, I still need to really focus on what I am touching. The controls are very easy to turn on with a touch, and the probe feature is great! I dont have to open my oven door, pull the food out,put my own probe in and wait. I just stick the oven probe in before I close the door and hit the button and not worry about a thing knowing my food is baked/roasted to perfection! Being stainless steel is another minor issue, but as several others mentioned, keep it clean after each use and you wont have a problem ( I use pledge after I wipe down with soft sponge, it makes all the difference!). It does scratch easily but everyone should know this about stainless steel before buying it anyway, so just be a bit careful, and some scratches can be buffed out. Also, the Service Agreement/Warranty covers knobs, front plate where the knobs are and anything else that goes wrong, other than normal wear and tear. So buy the range and the agreement, you wont be sorry!

Happy overall, knobs are our concern,

When we purchased our new home 3 years ago, the kitchen came without appliances (which I appreciated because I am fairly particular and getting rid of the contractor grade junk in most homes can be a pain). We investigated MANY appliance options and finally settled on a Cafe stove from GE because of the feature to value ration it represented. It is a complex problem to buy appliances because you can not see them in operation in the showroom. I would love to see a store where all the appliances are top notch and actually CONNECTED TO THE UTILITY GRID so you can test them out right there in the store... Hmmm, But I digress.Possible future endeavor...

In all, we are happy with this range and oven combination. We purchased the dual oven model and have been satisfied with it. We use the bottom oven for baking things in 13x9" pans (casseroles, etc.) or on flat sheet (making rolls for Thanksgiving, etc.). We do not rely on it as a "cooking" oven, but have been VERY satisfied with it as a warming and secondary baking oven. It's height (or lack thereof) would not allow for large scale baking, but that is the point. We use it for pan storage (just like an oven with a standard drawer) most of the time and use the oven aspect maybe 10 times a year when entertaining.

The convection oven on the other hand is VERY nice. We have not had problems with the oven in any way. Convection is a little bit of a learning curve (you always ask for 25 degrees higher than you want: e.g. punch in 375 when you want to bake at 350), or things do tend to take a bit longer to cook, but low and slow has long been the secret to exceptional cuisine. Convection is intended to create even heat and perfectly cooked food, but not necessarily speed up your cooking time. We have not used the probe because we like watching it ourselves and have a remote probe system (available on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/RediCheck-Remote-Cooking-Thermometer-Settings/dp/B0000AQL24/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1327874742&sr=8-1) that lets us carry the readout all over the house. Very nice when watching football on the holiday and don't have to get up to see how close the roast is to being done... Cookies are a breeze with this oven and breads, cakes, cupcakes and pies have also been very successful.

I agree with some reviewers that the NUMBERS on the knobs do not correspond to a REAL assessment of the burner intensity. BUT THAT IS WHY YOU BUY A GAS COOKTOP! Professional chefs do not rely on the "setting" of the burners (or even the oven). They LOOK at the flame to determine if it will do what they need. Compared to an electric or "ceramic" top range, this is a MUCH more accurate control system. I also agree that there is not a smooth transition from power boil to simmer on any of these burners, but they are controllable enough. There is a reason a Viking costs $6000. I expect them to be infinitely adjustable. For my personal home cooking, I understand that the controls may be a bit of a compromise. The griddle has always been exceptional for our purposes, and we have even done bacon on it on low settings. Heating is even, though not COMPLETELY flat. The large central burner does a superior job to any "bridge" griddle I have ever seen though. Having the option to put a grate (included) over it is also nice on pasta night. We put a large pan over the middle burner with water and pasta, then make up 2-4 sauces that people can use. Makes it AWESOME. French bread baking in the lower oven and a platter of Lasagna in the main oven and you are good to go!

The venting IS an issue, but one that every range in the world with this capacity of output would have. You can not get around the physics of heat. These ranges are intended to be installed in home environments where, generally speaking, venting is limited and fan capacity is rather pathetic. They have to find a way to make the unit SAFE to use by providing adequate heat dissipating systems, while maintaining the appearance of the appliance. The back vented system, while not ideal, is better than having it blow on your feet and peel up the linoleum in your nice new kitchen. I agree that having it blow onto the stove top is not ideal, but it seems like the least complicated and most reasonable solution short of forcing a renovation for effective outside venting. If you are ABSOLUTELY adamant about the hateful nature of direct interior venting, you can CERTAINLY have a contractor build a venting system that would pull ALL of the heat from this stove to the outside. This could be something along the lines of a draw down hood that pulls ALL of the heat from both the cooktop and the oven vents out through the back of the stove top. This would certainly be ideal, but not cheap, and not a push it into place and hook it up solution by any means.

The knobs are my only point of contention with this range. It would have been nice to have the stainless knobs from the jump, but, again, that is the nature of a non-commercial range... After 3 years, my aunt just broke one because she has never used a commercial designed range that starts at full power and moves to simmer instead of the opposite. She kept turning the knob to the right thinking OFF would be just past simmer... OOPS! snapped the little mount inside the knob. Still works, sort of, but needs replacing. Will call GE on Monday and ask for a whole new set of 6 knobs. Will let you know how that turns out... We do not leave the oven door a "crack" when we are cooking, so we have not had problems with the knobs melting. Here that would be against fire code anyway... but how would you keep an even oven temperature while doing that?

Overall, we purchased this range because it matched the decor in our new kitchen VERY nicely and had the features we were looking for in a range. Gas cooktop with electric oven(s), commercial grade BTU output in a home form factor (that did not require special venting), convection and standard oven capabilities, warming drawer/second oven option, 5 burner with central griddle design and stainless steel "commercial style" appearance in a 30" inset size to fit a standard kitchen. Are there better ranges out there? Probably. Are there better ovens out there? Probably. Are there better combinations of both at this price point (or even $1000 more)? Not very likely, and not from what I have seen. On Thanksgiving when we can keep 2 ovens and 5 burners going, along with a toaster oven and some crockpots, our relatives are frothing with jealousy for our kitchen.

I would recommend this to a friend who could not afford a full commercial install. We are probably going to do another renovation in 3 or so years, and we may move to a commercial range with all the shielding and venting needed at that time, but this suits our needs for a growing family of 4 at this time and we are very happy with it overall.

    Great Case Study on Fiverr,

As the author of Selling On Amazon Simplified: How I Make $2,700 Every Month, I am always on the lookout for new possible ways of increasing my earning potential. Connie does a great job breaking down a very new website, Fiverr, which most people are completely of unaware of. The best part of the book is when describing the actual gigs you can do to make that extra money. I have used Fiverr only as a buyer of different design logos, but never thought of using it to make money. Overall, a very cool topic and case study, worth checking out if your interested in making some extra money - but just be wary that you will not make a killing on Fiverr unless you have a whole team working with you.

    Thank you!

I actually saw a free preview of this book at the end of another of the books of Connie, "Guide to the Moonlighter to write online for a quick income" After I had checked the website and determined that it is indeed legitimate, I immediately bought this book. This has been one of the best ebooks, I bought and is easily worth much more than the purchase price!

Cannie takes you step by step through the entire process of setting up an account, develop ideas and implementation of your "Go". I followed his advice to the letter and posted 4 gigs on my first day. Within 24 hours, I had 4 commands!

If you are all out for a way to make a little money from home I highly recommend this book to anyone!

Thank you for this book Connie, it has the potential to be a life changer!

    * UPDATE *. Exactly 1 week after creating my account and post my first concerts, I received a total of 26 orders for a net income of $104.00 - part-time work in my first week!

Extra money is always welcome today with a warning,.

His book is a good start for those who have never heard of Fiverr, much less looked inside. It gives an overview complete with what Fiverr (and later gives links to other emerging competitors at Fiverr). If you start using its advice from the beginning (creation of a file for ideas), until you finish most of the chapters, you'll have enough information to actually set a concert or two (a "concert" is an offer to work for $5). For this, he deserves at least 4 stars (poor proofreading it decreased by 5).

For those who know about Fiverr, it is a no-brainer and the equivalent at the beginning of the child. For the rest of us, it is a good start.

I ranked it only 3 stars, however, because it tolerates the use of accounts of puppet sock and IDs for some of the concerts. Even though I know that it is legal to do so, the sock puppetry at best gives the sensation of lying at worst and cunning. Normally, a person reads the comments and the comments to learn more about the product and make an informed decision. When several comments are the same person under different names and IDs, it invalidates the comments and prevents an informed decision. It is the only gripe I have about the book.

Other than the foregoing, information is valid and useful. If you do not mind that you need to do a little research to make profitable your gigs and that most will not have the money of the day after, it is a good guide for beginners to Fiverr.
